 Day 3 – 6: Self drive holiday in Serengeti

Early breakfast, then depart for a self drive holiday in Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the game drive in the Serengeti plains searching for the Migration herds. The Serengeti national parks is the leading safari destination as well as self drive safari in Africa due its abundant wildlife and nature. During the migration you can easily spot predators such as lions, hyenas, cheetahs chasing and killing their prey. You will be spending the nights at Kubu kubu Tented Camp on full board.

Kubu kubu tented camp has designed with a modern African decorative style that creates a fresh and bright atmosphere, but very cozy and with the right amount of luxury. Guests can attend to the show of the Great Migration from the comfort of their tents.

 

Day 7: Serengeti – Maramboi

Today you shall continue with your self drive tour by departing Serengeti National park to Maramboi area which is located within the Lake Manyara ecosystem southern of Lake Manyara National Park. After the arrival spend the afternoon at leisure in the lodge, dinner and overnight at Maramboi Tented Lodge

The Maramboi tented lodge is situated at a prime location in the fields of golden vegetation within the ecosystem of Lake Manyara. Right from the lodge you can see a variety of animals such as zebras, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles among others. A walking safari can also organize from the lodge which is guided by a Maasai guide into the nearby areas which surround the lodge.

 

Day 8: Self drive holiday in Manyara

Breakfast at the lodge, depart for a self drive into Lake Manyara National Park. This park has the size of 330 square kilometers of which 220 sq kilometers is the Lake Manyara which the park derived its name from. The Lake Manyara national park boast a good population of elephants, wildebeest, hippos along with so many giraffes, and buffalo. Other animals of Lake Manyara include warthog, waterbuck, zebras, impala, and waterbuck.

 

 Day 9: Self drive holiday in Tarangire

Breakfast, continue with the self drive holiday in Tarangire national park which is located to the south east of the Great Rift Valley. This park has the area of about 2,600 square kilometers which cross cut by the Tarangire River which stands as main source of the water for animals during the dry season. The park has also several wide swamps which dry into green plains during the dry season in the south. Late Afternoon drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

 Day 10: Maramboi – Arusha- Kilimanjaro Airport

Breakfast at the lodge, depart the lodge Kilimanjaro International Airport via the Arusha town. Our representative will meet you at the airport for the handing back the vehicle.

Saadani Boat Safari: Experiencing a boat safari in Saadani National Park is an exhilarating adventure. Cruising along the Wami River and observing hippos and crocodiles up close provides an authentic taste of an African safari. Saadani National Park holds the distinction of being the only game reserve in East Africa that meets the ocean, featuring stunning white sandy beaches. Situated approximately 100 km northwest of Dar es Salaam, it is the closest park to the city, making it ideal for weekend getaways and day trips.

Saadani Boat Safari

The beaches within Saadani National Park represent a prime nesting area for green turtles, the largest among hard-shelled sea turtles, located to the north of Dar es Salaam. These turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, relying on the sun’s warmth for the hatching process.

Saadani National Park is home to around 30 species of larger mammals, alongside various reptiles and birds. The park’s vegetation primarily consists of three main types: tall grass savanna that can reach up to two meters, scattered palms, and grasslands dominated by shorter grasses.

Boat Safari in Wami River

Embarking on a boat safari in the Wami River is a standout experience for anyone visiting Saadani National Park. Typically lasting between 2 to 3 hours, the safari provides excellent opportunities to see multiple pods of hippos and giant crocodiles, along with a variety of riverine birds including malachite, pied, and even giant kingfishers. Common bird sightings also include the woolly-necked stork, common sandpipers, lilac-breasted rollers, palm nut vultures, fish eagles, and ground hornbills.

Saadani Boat Safari Itinerary

 

Day 1: Dar es Salaam -Saadani Boat Safari

Leave Dar es Salaam for the camping safari in Saadani national park at 0800 hrs via Chalinze. Arrive Saadani in the mid-day for lunch at the camp and short rest. Afternoon embark into boat safari along Wami River where you will see Hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and different water birds. Late afternoon drive back to the camp for Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2: Full Day Saadani boat Safari

Breakfast then depart for a full day game viewing in Saadani National Park. Today we will take you for a full day game drive in the Saadani national park with packed lunch. The Saadani national Parks boast a variety of animals include lion, leopard, hyena, elephant, burchellâs zebra, African buffalo, cape eland, greater Kudu,  aardvark and warthog. The park is also a home to various species of primates such as Zanzibar galago, Angolan black and white colobus, wild dogs, vervet monkey, blue monkey, yellow baboon, , black backed jackal, honey badger, African clawless otter, civet, large spotted genet, bushy tailed mongoose, dwarf mongoose, banded mongoose, spotted hyena, savannah, bush pig, hippopotamus, giraffe, lichtenstein’s hartebeest, blue wildebeest, cape eland, greater kudu, bushbuck, Harvey’s duiker, blue duiker, grey duiker, sunni, common waterbuck and bohor reedbuck. Late afternoon return back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3: Saadani National Park – Dar Es Salaam

Today you will go for a short walking safari just after the breakfast accompanied by an armed ranger. During the walking your guide will assist you to identify different plants and spotting different species of birds. Back to the Lodge for lunch and after lunch depart to Dar es Salaam where we will drop at the hotel or airport for your onward flight back home. End of safari services
