3 Day Selous Camping Safari Itinerary

Day 1: From Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

On your first day, you’ll depart from Dar es Salaam at 06:00 am for the journey to Selous Game Reserve. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach this incredible destination. Enjoy the views along the way! Once you arrive, you can expect to see an array of wildlife. Selous is home to elephants, lions, and over 400 species of birds, so keep your camera handy!

After a long drive, it’s time to check in the chosen campsite where you can stay in the large and spacious tents or set up your dom tents

In the afternoon after lunch you will embark on a scenic boat safari along Rufiji River where you can spot hippos, crocodiles and various species of water birds. In the evening return to the campsite where you will enjoy your dinner under the stars and overnight.

 

 

Day 2: Exploring Selous

Get ready for an action-packed second day of you selous camping safari! Today you will spend the entire day exploring the reserve through guided game drives. You’ll have plenty of options to explore the Selous Game Reserve. Your guide will share insights about each animal and location, making the trip even more informative. In the mid-day you will enjoy picnic lunch in one of the picnic site while surrounded by nature which is the unique perspective of Selous that you won’t forget.

 

Day 3: Final Adventures and Return

On your last day, there’s still more to explore before heading back to Dar es Salaam. With the company of your guided and an armed ranger you will embark on a guided nature walks which allows you to have a closer look at the flora and fauna. After experience the wilderness on feet return to the camp / campsite for packing up and start your journey back to Dar es Salaam. On the drive back, think about all the amazing moments and insight you gained.  You’ll get back to Dar es Salaam in time for a late dinner, reflecting on your African adventure.
